KP Industries designs, manufacturers and integrates bespoke automated handling equipment for the likes of BMW, Bentley Motors, Jaguar Land Rover and Bombardier

They became one of the first tenants at Logic, in Kingsway Business Park, taking around 25,000 sq ft of manufacturing space and adding an extra mezzanine floor. The company outgrew its previous location at Buckley Road Industrial Estate and wanted a space that reflected the fact they work with some of biggest names in the automotive, aerospace and nuclear sectors. The company now employs over 30 people at their Kingsway facility.

KP Industries has reduced the average age of the workforce by recruiting a number of younger staff and graduates. Cornell said: “Kingsway has been the perfect base to grow a business. As well as great transport links we have a talented workforce on our doorstep and enjoy an excellent relationship with Rochdale Development Agency and other businesses.”

What's next for KP Industries. The company has a turnover of £7m with ambitions to grow. Cornell said: “We’re doing an increasing amount of work in the vertical farming sector at the moment. The project that we’re currently working on is the size of a football stadium. We’re not making the whole structure but it gives you an idea of the scale.”

CEO Phil Cornell said: “We took the space at Logic primarily because of its location next to the M62 and its impressive appearance. When we bring clients to the facility it’s important that they create the right image for the business. We were winning contracts that we wouldn’t have been able to take on in our former offices. Logic gives us the space to do the projects by pre-building them and testing them on site.”
