“About five years ago, our business model changed significantly,” says WCCTV’s Managing Director, David Gilbertson. “From having traditionally focused on smaller video security products, such as domes and digital video recorders, we began to secure significant numbers of orders for tower-based systems. This demanded additional assembly and storage space – something that was initially catered for by renting.

“As sales continued to grow, however, we knew it was time to find a new, much larger facility. For distribution purposes, we wanted to stay within easy access of the M62. It was also important for us to remain in the Rochdale area to avoid increasing journey times for our loyal and skilled employees.

“A meeting with Rochdale Development Agency in summer 2014 led to them helping us secure the land on which our new, state-of-the-art facility sits. Throughout the entire design and build process, RDA was incredibly supportive and responsive to our time frames.

“Thanks to the assistance provided by RDA, we now have a future-proofed facility that is ideally suited to the manufacture of our smaller security products as well as our extensive range of rapid deployment towers. We have more than doubled our workforce since moving to Kingsway Business Park and have taken on several apprentices. We are also just minutes from Junction 21 of the M62.”
